Lincolnway West in South Bend reopened Monday evening, after it was closed most of the day to allow firefighters to deal with a large fire in a business. The call came in around 9am to an automotive electronics installer in the 19-hundred block west of downtown, and spread to an attached home. Crews were still dealing with hot spots Monday evening.

More fallout in Memphis, Tennessee, from the death of an unarmed black man after he was apparently beaten by police. Five officers are charged with second degree murder, and now two more have been taken off duty as the investigation continues. And the fire department Monday fired two EMTs and a lieutenant, saying they failed to properly evaluate Tyre Nichols condition when called to the scene.

More flight cancellations Monday as winter weather slowed airports in Dallas and Denver. Over a thousand flights had been cancelled as of late last night. Weather alerts from Texas to West Virginia are affecting more than 40 million people as a winter storm moves across the country.

Notre Dame women’s basketball falls from 7th to 9th in the latest AP national poll, after Sunday’s four point loss at now 15th ranked North Carolina State. The women play at Boston College Thursday.

Big Ten men’s basketball tonight includes the Indiana Hoosiers at Maryland, and Nebraska at Illinois.

NBA: the Detroit Pistons lost at Dallas, 111-105. The Bulls host the LA Clippers tonight in Chicago.
