
At least eight deaths, a couple thousand canceled flights, power outages and school closures have all been blamed on winter weather from Texas to Tennessee. Over half a million are left without power, mostly in Texas, and the cancelled fights continue to pile up. As of last night, more than 350 thousand utility customers across Texas remained without power.

A fight at a boys basketball game at Washington High School last night led to the game being canceled. Washington and Riley were at halftime of a regular season game when the fight broke out, and about 20 officers were called out to break things up. No serious injuries were reported, but a number of people suffered cuts and scrapes. No word so far on any charges.
Notre Dame offensive coordinator Tommy Rees is considered one of the leading young college football coaches out there, and the point was demonstrated this week as none other than Alabama and head coach Nick Saban apparently want him to take over their offense. Rees visited Tuscaloosa Thursday. No word yet on a decision.
9th ranked Notre Dame women’s basketball won at Boston College last night, 72-59. The Irish men play at home tomorrow at 1 against Wake Forest.
Michigan won at Northwestern 68-51. Wisconsin beat Ohio State in Columbus, 65-60.
NBA: the Bulls over the Charlotte Hornets, 114-98 in Chicago. The Indiana Pacers lost at home to the LA Lakers, 112-111.
