Another potentially snowy day today, but less widespread than yesterday. Lake effect snow in some bands could pile up another four inches or more in some places, while others will get an inch or even less. Temperatures will hold near the freezing mark all day, so be ready for slick and slushy conditions as you go about your business today.

Winter weather in various parts of the country led to hundreds of flight cancellations yesterday, and once again, Southwest Airlines led the pack. But this time far fewer flights were affected than in late December, when over 16 thousand flights were cancelled. Southwest puts its losses from the December system meltdown at over 700 million dollars. Fourth quarter financial results are due out today.

Former Notre Dame and current LSU football coach Brian Kelly was overpaid by LSU over two months last year, an apparently nobody noticed. LSU says Kelly was essentially paid twice in May and June, almost a million dollars more than under his contract. Kelly has agreed to a new pay schedule that will allow LSU to recoup the money over time.

There are reports out of Indianapolis that Colts owner Jim Irsay wants to keep interim coach Jeff Saturday as the new head coach, but not everyone in the organization agrees. The Colts have second interviews scheduled with at least seven candidates.

7th ranked Irish women’s basketball plays tonight at Purcell Pavilion, hosting number 24 Florida State. Tipoff at 8pm on Live 99-9.

In men’s Big Ten action, Indiana won at Minnesota, 61-57. Tonight, Purdue is at Michigan, and Michigan State hosts Iowa.

NBA: the Indiana Pacers lost at Orlando, 126-120. The Chicago Bulls play at Charlotte tonight.
